Saint Georges water
SAINT GEORGES is the patron of the pass above which springs at 1,162 meters above sea level the source, which supplies the production of the Saint-Georges water. Overlooking Mount Serra-Cimaggia, it is on the road that leads from Ajaccio to Sartene in Southern Corsica and passes through the village of Grosseto Prugna, in a landscape completely preserved of scrub. Filtered by granite, which is considered to be the best natural filter, the Saint Georges spring water, which is weakly mineralized, is of absolute purity. It is distinguished by its lightness and softness on the palate. Its production is fed by an artesian source with continuous flow. It naturally comes from the rock at 1,162 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Serra-Cimagna mountain in a preserved territory of the maquis. These two collecting points, a few hundred meters apart, are located on the two sides of the mountain and look towards the bays of Ajaccio and Propriano respectively. Water is drawn in a traditional way according to a method dating back to Roman times. Unlike a drilling that is invasive, this method accompanies the natural gushing of the water and does not exhaust the resource. Its collection is carried out by a sealed stone pipe, connected to a food PVC pipe which brings the water by gravity to a stainless steel tank attached to the bottling site. The water stops its course only in the bottle, where it sees its first day. Holy by name, the water remains pure until the moment of drinking.
